Official Statement from MOHIT on Wande Coal’s Nude Picture Saga

It has come to our notice that a purported nude picture of Wande Coal is being circulated on social networking site, Twiiter and that made him a trending topic yesterday and early hours of today.

Wande is very grateful to those who have shown him love and as well to those who were constructive in their criticisms. He is saying a massive THANK YOU.

We also want to state categorically that there is nothing wrong or to be ashamed about being naked BUT THE PICTURES IN QUESTION ARE NOT THOSE OF WANDE COAL, the multiple Hip Hop World Award winner. That is not him and that can never be him.

It is worthy of note to let you know that the rising star has been a target of orchestrated attacks in past months. Few months ago false reports of him being treated in a psychiatric home were widely circulated even when he was busy performing in shows in Nigeria and around the world. Later, another report of him slapping a fellow in a club was initiated by some faceless people as well, a report which was false in its entirety. Last year it was also reported that he slapped 9ice during an argument, a report 9ice himself denied. Now, it is a false naked picture that is being used.

We have reason to believe that the person behind these nude pictures is the same person(s) behind earlier negative and false stories. Therefore, we are no longer taking the matter lightly. Appropriate security agencies have been briefed and investigations are on-going so as to ascertain true identity of the culprit and bring him or her to book.

Wande would also like to appeal to his numerous fans to keep calm and assure them that he won’t stop making good music, love them and keep right in all his doings.

I've seen the pic..who hasn't? All I'll say is - every blog that has that pic up should take it down. If he was smiling to the camera i.e was aware that the pic was being taken, then he's fair game. But the person in that pic was sleeping and oblivious to his environment, so circulating the pic is in bad taste.

Woman Wanted Biggest Breasts In The World, Now They Are Literally Killing Her

Sheyla Hershey, a Brazilian model who lives in Houston wanted to have the largest breasts in the world, and she did achieve it when she had M-cup implants put into place. After more than 30 plastic surgeries, Hershey suffered her first complication following her most recent breast augmentation procedure in June. A severe staph infection reached both of Hershey's breasts.

Staph infections can enter the bloodstream and be life threatening. She has had to give herself infusions of intravenous antibiotics every twelve hours to fight the infection. The treatment has helped one breast, but doctors say the other one is still in jeopardy. That would mean that she will not only lose both implants, but quite possibly need to have the entire breast removed.

Doctors who are concerned for her life took Hershey into surgery just this past Tuesday to remove the implants.

"I had large fever and painful. I just couldn't breathe properly; it was terrible! I was in bed all day, couldn't get up," says Hershey.

Nigerian Cinema Goes Sci-Fi as 'Kajola' Set to Premiere

A new futuristic movie titled 'Kajola', which gulped a whooping N130 Million to make, is set to premier on Friday, 30 July in abuja, sliverbird.

According to the producers of this movie, "Kajola is the upcoming revolutionary action movie, complete with stunning Hollywood style visual effects!"

Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan and produced by Adonis Production with visual effects by Anthill, the movie is computer generated, combined with real images and camera shots of Lagos and abstract computer generated illustration to deliver a story shot in 2059.

The search for the next Elite Model from Nigeria is on, and things are getting really exciting. The casting session for this year’s competition will be taking place at the Rehab Pool Lounge & Bar from July 9 to July 10 2010. On each of those days, the panel of judges will meet and evaluate the hundreds of hopeful models. According to the PR representative of Elite Model Look Nigeria/Beth Models – Morsi PR, there are exciting incentives for girls to participate in the model search. A Blackberry Smartphone will be given out to one lucky participant and five lucky girls would stand a chance of being the face of Hair Limited. Two girls will receive a set of Sacred Lashes each and will both be featured on the international brand’s website.In addition, several Nigerian designers and stylists on the lookout for new talent will be attending the casting. Beth Modeling Agency has the sole rights to hold the annual Elite Model Look competition in Nigeria. This competition has produced two international models namely – Tracy Onyekachukwu (Elite Model Look Nigeria 2008) and Annette Begg (Elite Model Look 2009).

We all know by now that Aristotle bar was raided by NDLEA, if u dint know now u know. NDLEA raided the place on Friday night/Saturday morning, i know u will say NA wa o! but i tell you its true! Dakova who is the owner was arrested and was taken to his hotel room and was checked, rigth now don't KNOW if anything was found, but i hope not. A girl was also arrested because they found 3 raps of weed with her. But rumor has it that it was a set up by someone, who didn't pay his complete bill last week and Dakova clamped his tyre. NA WA O!
After everything people acted like noting had happened, and continued dancing and having fun till 7am, Trust ABJ people, they no send!

They didn’t win but they did us PROUD! MI & P-Square at the 2010 BET Awards

African music fans were ecstatic when they learned that some of their top stars had been nominated for the BET Awards. Flying the flag for the Nigerian music industry were MI and P-Square.

Last week, Peter & Paul Okoye of P-Square and MI sojourned from Lagos, Nigeria to the USA. MI stopped by New York where he met with the press and appeared on BET’s 106 & Park. P-Square held a press conference where they discussed their BET nomination and their US Tour which is kicking off this week.

Then it was off to LA, the nominees thoroughly enjoyed their BET experience. There was a party held in their honour by BET & Anabel Mobile. Guests at the event included Anabel brand ambassador – Meagan Good, Talk show host – Wendy Williams alongside MI & P-Square. We have photos from the event below.
In addition, they participated in other BET social activities and got to meet many of the top Hip Hop acts including Drake.

Finally, the big night! P-Square represented Nigeria in green outfits while MI kept it classic in a grey blazer paired with a black shirt and a pair of black stunners.

The best international act award eventually went to the UK’s Dizzee Rascal who is coincidentally of Nigerian origin as well so we claim it!

All the same it was a fun night. An emotional Michael Jackson tribute by Chris Brown, showstopping performances by Kanye West, Eminem, Diddy, Nikki Minaj and a host of stars.

A good night for Black Entertainment.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, my weekend started officially on Thursday evening as you all know, Right after work i went to negotiate getting a model for one of my clients commercial,then got home, got ready for my friend hauwa's party at SOHO lounge.I told you'll about fresh entertainment,hauwa run's it.She got DOTSTA a UK artiste who thrilled the audience to he's hit track stick up, which drove all the chics loco.Tickets were sold for 3000 naira regular and 5000 naira VIP and the place was filled to brim, Drinks were everywhere. I was awed by the smashing outfits that could be found @ the occasion, and i noticed most of the chics were in black, is black the new red? Other artist's that performed were Whizkid,Magnito,Tycoon who wowed the crowd with their performances.the show was a success and i was impressed. Will upload pics later.We all moved from SOHO to Aristotle,i got there on top a Hilux truck in a state of highness and well the rest of the night was a blur.

Colonialism.

There are still remnants of that era in Nigerian culture. I really can't help but notice it. I often wonder how much of what we now see as African culture is a strange meshing of colonial oppression and actual African tradition. Sp much has been erased, hidden, destroyed and ignored as not being credible throughout the years in terms of recording history that I wonder whether the culture we see as authentically African is truly what it was 'back in the day'. And when I say authentically African, please picture Chinua Achebe's book Things Fall Apart, the poster-child piece of literature that apparently tells the world what it's like in Nigeria. Don't get me wrong, I love the book. But it's just one, eloquently told, no less, narrative of the so-called African experience. But I digress.

I am torn about my Nigeria and the things we call respect, specifically in the area of respect for our elders. It is common knowledge in Nigeria that you cannot greet your elders by saying 'hi'. In every language, there are nuances and elaborate measures taken in greeting those who senior us in age and sometimes even, position (social class). In every culture, there are gestures to be taken in greeting, from dips to prostrations, from curtsies to bows. I don't have a problem with the elaborate ten-minute greetings, although it can easily become rather laborious and uncomfortable. I don't even mind that in the Yoruba culture, for instance, boys are demanded to lay on the floor on their stomachs to greet or touch their right foot with thier left hand to greet. It is in these conversations where I cringe internally:

Child: Good morning sah!
Elder: How are you, my son?
Child: Fine, sah.
Elder: How is Mommy?
Child: She's fine, sah
Elder: Daddy, nko?
Child: He's fine sah
Elder: Ah good good, well done, eh?
Child: Yes sah thank you sah
Elder: Study well o so that you can follow your father's wise footsteps
Or other of such wise counsel passed on often from older members of society to the younger ones.
Child: Yessah

Ok without me going on and on, cos these sorts of conversations can really be elaborate - Nigerians love to hear themselves talk! - you can see where I'm going. I did well in one in African Studies which was one of the courses i took in DE university, so you can further understand why I cringe. This is very reminiscent of the slave mentality when African slaves were forced into the 'yessah' culture. Whether you liked what was being said to you or not, the response was 'yessah'. Whether you even fully understood, whether your automatic 'yessah' response even made sense to the conversation being had, your response was the standard: 'yessah'. And so I cringe. Is this what respect is? A rambling of sah's and maam's. And I cannot help but note who the victims of this culture are: those lower class in society and those who are not the CEOs or Directors or so-called Big Men or Big Women, the ones who do not have drivers to drive their jeeps and heavy-duty cars.

Do you see the parallels now? I wonder what would be said if I bring this up as a challenge to the fundamentals of our culture.

Germany faces Ghana this evening with the winners guaranteed a place in the Last-16. However, the real story of the night will be the battle of opposing brothers as Kevin-Prince Boateng 23,will be representing Ghana while his brother Jerome 21, represents Germany.

Never in the history of football have two brothers taken to the opposite end of the pitch in an international match at the same time.

Born to a Ghanaian father and German mothers, the two players have dual nationality and could declare for either country. However, with both players having represented nation of birth at underage levels, it was always expected they would eventually break into the senior squad.

The Boateng family grew up in the tough Berlin suburb of Wedding, the two boys, along with their other brother, George, saw football as a way to escape the rampant unemployment in the multi-cultural melting pot of an area with 26 percent of the population are without work.

Its mid-week, and when i get to review the song of the week! this song is one song i know most young people love so much, its HOLD YUH! BY GYPTIAN. This is one of the very few songs i get to like at the 1st hearing, all the DJs in town play this song like mad both on radio and in clubs, i know i heard it every where i went to over the weekend! Omo the remix with Nicki Minaj is the shit! I know some girls who were on their way out of the club, when they heard this song, they all ran back inside to dance to it. The song has this Jamaican vibe with some sexual feel, it can led you to making love on the dance floor, na so? lol! Lovely song!

Nigerian Legialtors in bloody physical fight...

Members of the Federal House of Representatives yesterday engaged in a free -for-all fight[Violence and assault] on the floor of the house as the Progressives led by Mr. Dino Melaye opposed to the embattled speaker of the house, Dimeji Bankole, tried to introduce a motion for his impeachment. They were suspended until the end of this legislative session and a fight ensued between ‘honourable members’.

What a shame!
